The successful businessman Nikita has now the opportunity to travel into 19th century both due to his friends who organized this great adventure and to his abuse of alcohol. Nikita Petrovych now lives in the large estate and is well away including also the attention of attractive housekeeper.
But owing to the excessive interests of young barin to his new horizons the situation is not going according to the planned scenario. And particularly the film director being at the same time the barin`s steward is disturbed by his serious interest to the countrywoman Zaryana, instead of the planned marriage with the housekeeper.
Personal author`s opinion: Not bad as for the low budget and sad ex facte Russian film. Several times it even causes the smile. And I, personally, liked the Maykov`s acting.

Roman Shilo is not merely a 35-year –old underworld leader. At first sight he looks like the real “mobster” with no family, no friends and even without the beloved girl. It`s quite natural, that all his lifetime is dedicated to the work. But of a sudden the real triplet falls upon him: two daughters and one son. And only one child of them is his own - the eldest daughter Tanya, others are children of his former wife, whose unfortunate parachute jump caused the situation.
Roman`s life has to be changed. Little by little Roman becomes more and more loyal to the kids. Moreover their life even seems interesting to him. At the same time several things happen: the leading hero falls in love and appear some people, in whose interests there is no place for the Shilo`s children.
Author`s personal opinion: neither good nor bad. Firstly, as for me, this role doesn`t suits to Porechenkov, who looks more showy in the films like “Storm Gates”. And secondly the moments making the viewer`s laugh are to seldom in this “comedy”.

Tatyana (Mariya Mironova) tired of the glamour capital life comes back to her native urban village Lypki in Tulskaya region in order to marry her first love Misha (Marat Basharov). Misha like everyone here is a miner short of money due to the occasional salary payments, but the wedding has to be celebrated. The needed money will be digged up. And here starts unimaginable – the real Russian wedding in the village. It is quite an eyeful show!
“The Wedding” was awarded by the special prize of the Cannes Film Festival for the best cast. And rather objectively, I have to say. Just look at the bridegroom`s friend Garkusha performed by Andrey Panin. Marvellous work! The same honest view of Russian province I`ve seen only in film “The Four”. But unlike the spiteful satire by Ilya Hrzhanovsky Lungin`s laugh at the village contains also love and soul. Lungin could be called a real Russian Kusturica!

Sergey, the top-manager of the big company, probably couldn`t expect such sharp and fast turn of his life. He has lost both family and work and even his house. Landing on the street level he met his old acquaintance, the student of his year with the same way of life. The leading character decided to find a job with the help of the employment agency. He was offered a job and was ready to try…
I doubt, whether he could imagine, that job description of the profession named “listener” includes the listening of bad language and getting his lumps from the nervous Fedulov`s family members. But this makes the work more and more profitable! The business blossomed out just until the family bankruptcy.
“The Listener” is a quite merry family comedy adorned by the galaxy of famous actors.

As I`ve already told in one of my previous posts, I `m not against Gosha Kutsenko. Moreover, I admire his diligence and ability to act in several films at the same time. Thus for the last six years the actor played in thirty films, in the majority of them – he was a star or co-star.
This time is not an exception. The hero of Gosha, Max meets the French princess find herself in Russia due to her temper. His first intention to use this acquaintance exceptionally for business purposes collapse, because very soon he falls in love, that benets him rather firmly.
In general the film is a quite mediocre remake of the William Wyler`s “Roman Holiday” made in 1953. But nevertheless it succeeded to collect more than 7,5 mln USD for the two months being showing in cinemas, that thrice exceeds the film`s budget.

Unlike the majority of films shown during the last years in Russia, “Home, sweet home” doesn`t pretend to seem the best Russian film ever made or the blockbuster running into millions. It is merely a comedy without the stars of KVN making money on hateful uninteresting humour or without the everpresent Gosha Kutsenko, whom the Russian audience was already fed up about.
The plot is trite enough, the idea is no less banal, but the cast is quite fortunate being the secret of this romantic comedy success. It is the film for the housewives and young girls, still believing in fairy-tales. But the film after all is worth seeing, because of some funny episodes that are rarely met in modern films.
Shortly the story is following: Mikhail Andreyevich helps his daughter Masha to find the temporary accommodation using the confidential information, who and when goes on a journey. And one day… You should see it yourself, just to broaden your outlook.

It`s not easy to categorize the new Russian film “Indigo”, that came out in March 2008. It pretends to be the fantasy thriller, but sometimes it looks like comedy. And the most positive emotions are not caused by the jokes of the film, but by the stupid way ther look like on the screen. In general the film could be called the completely failed comedy, and we`ve got used to such phenomena.
The main point of the film is also hardly understandable. It`s not surprizing, that Russian director Roman Prygunov decided to make a film on the popular up-to-date topic of Indigo children, with the intend to create a parody (read: copy) of the stupid American film “X-Men”. And even the film cast was not able to improve the situation. Mikhail Yefremov was really great but… Gosha Kutsenko became the jokes target, because of the numerous films he played during a year.

Vadik (Kharlamov) gets to heaven being drugged on his own wedding. His “personal file” is considered by the honourable old man. In the slow discussion of his life with the new friend Vadik tries to find in it some sense. But there is nothing more than hard-drinking, shoot-outs and lecherous deeds.
The scenario of “The Best Film” is not worth retelling, not that film plot is funny. The director-debutant Kirill Kuzin will not stick in the memory as the box-office hit creator. This film is one of the most awful, vulgar, trivial and disgraceful works the one could imagine. The attempt to make the Russian version of “Scary Movie”, the sparkling parody on the popular films, failed. Even the crowds of promoted by show business characters (like Dmitriy Nagiev, Boris Mioseev, Vladimir Turchinskiy and popular stars from “Comedy Club”) could not shelter the film. It is not funny interesting or creative, it is entirely vacuous. There is an evidence commercial project exploiting the TNT stars popularity. The “The Best Film” could be compared with the household bin full of perishables. If you do not press “Stop” in time, you would suffocate with the terrible smell.

- Creative! Lesha, Sasha, Slava…
- Is Sasha also the creative one? I thought he is a normal guy…
One more day of our old acquaintances from radiostation “Kak by radio”, known by the film “Election Day”. On this day the general producer Misha and his people appointed the night super marathon. But unfortunately the hour before the ether topic of the marathon was stolen by the competitors. The team must find the new epoch-making topic for the radio audience. At his very moment the small ship in the sea hit trouble on the other end of Russia, with the drunk crew and a couple of circus animals on the board. The situation is interpreted quite another way by the “Kak by radio”: the big ocean liner “Ph. D. Professor Schvarzengold” goes upon the rocks with hundreds of rarest animals on the board. Will this fancy impress the audience, musicians, sponsors, the radiostation owner and general staff – we`ll see…
It is one more cinema remake of “I quartet” performance; one more funny, lively and truthful story. Really truthful, cause the film authors (the scenario was written by the “I quartet” members) know the ins and outs of the radio as one knows his ten fingers. The life experience helped to show the life of radio with humour, irony and wholesome cynicism. “Radio Day” – is a good opportunity both to have a rest and to receive a fat part of essential positive. In the film participated the famous Russian musicians Ilya Lagutenko, Alexey Kortnev, Diana Arbenina, Nikolay Fomenko and the band “Chaif”.
